Chargeback response deadline calculator
A chargeback gives you a short, fixed window to respond. Miss it and the case is lost automatically. Pick your card network and the date you were notified, and see your exact deadline and the days you have left.
Typical network windows, shown for guidance and current as of October 2026. Your payment processor often sets an earlier internal cutoff, so always confirm the exact date on the dispute notice they send you.
What this deadline is
When a customer disputes a card payment, the bank raises a chargeback and you, the merchant, get a limited time to reply with evidence. That reply is called representment. The clock starts the day the chargeback is created, which is the date on the notice from your processor.
Why it decides the case
If nothing is submitted by the deadline, the dispute is settled for the cardholder and the money is gone, usually with no second chance on that cycle. Responding in time, with the right proof, is the single thing that keeps a service chargeback winnable.
What a winning response needs
For a service, the evidence that persuades an issuer's analyst is a signed agreement, verified client identity, a dated record of what was delivered, and the communication trail, assembled in the format the bank reads. Winning Disputes builds that file before you are paid and produces the dispute pack in one click.
